Senior Data Engineer
At 0x, our mission is to Eliminate the Complexity of Accessing Tokens and Liquidity. We’re a mission-driven and diverse team of world-class talent from Coinbase, Google, Meta and other top companies. We are a remote-first and fully distributed company with team members across all continents besides Antarctica. As early pioneers in the space, we’ve made significant technical contributions to various Ethereum standards over the years; fun fact - our team helped establish the NFT token standard (ERC721).
In joining us, you'll take part in transforming the way that value is exchanged on a global scale. We're passionate about open-source software and decentralized technology's potential to act as an equalizing force in the world, and our technology is deployed by a wide array of projects at the forefront of internet and economic advancement.
Founded in 2017, 0x created and now partakes in the development of 0x protocol: the open-source, global backbone for decentralized exchange. Alongside the core protocol, we build and maintain products and service offerings, including Matcha, the search engine for tokens, and 0x API, the endpoint for multi-chain aggregated liquidity. These offerings allow 0x to continue marching towards our vision of building a tokenized world where all value can flow freely at the best prices and with the lowest transaction costs. This way, we can help businesses eliminate the complexity of accessing decentralized markets across all layers of the Web3 exchange stack and have more time to focus on what matters most: their product.
0x currently supports nine major blockchains: Ethereum, Polygon, Fantom, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Chain, Base and Celo, and the 0x ecosystem has been rapidly expanding. With integrations across all of the top wallets and apps, including MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet and Coinbase NFT, Polygon Wallet, Brave, Matcha, dYdX, Zapper, Zerion, and Shapeshift, 0x is fast becoming the trusted standard for all decentralized exchanges.
We’re a remote-first company with core contributors in nearly ten countries and over twice as many cities. Our headquarters is in San Francisco, with an office available for anyone on the team to use at any time. We’ll consider your application regardless of where you call home.

People Experience Specialist
✨ One platform, a whole world of opportunity
Right now, the best jobs are limited to people in a handful of the world’s wealthiest cities, yet brilliant people are everywhere. Driven to overturn the status quo and distribute opportunities equally around the world, Oyster launched its global employment platform to help companies hire, pay, and care for talent anywhere.
When it comes to global employment, we walk the walk. We’re proof that companies don't need an office to create a highly-engaged culture. Since the company’s inception in January 2020, Oyster has:
- 🌏 Created a fully-distributed, vibrant team of 500+ employees across 60+ countries
- 👩💻 Featured in Forbes having ranked #9 in Flexjobs Top 30 Companies for remote jobs
- 🌈 Established a diverse leadership team and an employee base that’s 60% female
- 🏆 Achieved one of the highest employee engagement scores in its class
- 🦄 Raised $286 million to date, with a current valuation of $1.2 billion!
Our momentum speaks to the power of global employment—and we’re just getting started! If you want to change the world with Oyster and be empowered to work remotely while doing so, we’d love for you to apply!
Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire, this role requires you to be based within AMER time zones to ensure optimal collaboration with our teams.
The People Experience we create is critical to Oyster's success. It inspires and motivates employees, drives Oyster towards its goals, fosters a positive culture, and ensures ethical and responsible operations. A strong people experience is essential for Oyster’s success across a diverse and complex landscape.
As a People Experience team, we develop the products and services that create a seamless employee journey - products that ‘just work well’ for both the People team and the employees, finding the ideal intersection of operational efficiency and employee experience. Our products and services are ubiquitous and easy to engage with and support every stage of the employee journey from onboarding to offboarding and everything in between including compensation, rewards and performance programs.
As a People Experience Specialist, your People Operations knowledge and build capability will ensure you have a meaningful impact on the operational solutions and programs we develop in support of our business objectives. Your responsibilities will include automating and enhancing our People Operations workflows, capturing and analyzing People data, supporting our international employees, and collaborating on people projects. Additionally, you will champion best practices and collaborate with the wider People team to refine the employee experience.
This role will report to the Senior Manager of People, Programs and Operations as part of our People Experience (Px) team, within the broader People function.
Key Responsibilities
- Build the exciting People Operations products we develop to ensure they are built with purpose, utility, and customer experience in mind.
- Grow your People Operations acumen as a first-line point of contact for employee queries and in support of our People Operations services
- Automate and improve People workflows throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, compensation and reward, and performance management.
- Make sure our people databases are impeccably up to date so that you can help us run reports that give us insights into making Oyster a continuously better place to work!
- Write clear and succinct articles for our knowledge base, and to help our employees navigate our exciting initiatives
- Support us in carrying out a seamless onboarding experience for our new joiners (after you’ve had a great one yourself!)
- Give your input on the exciting People Operations products we build to ensure they are built with purpose, utility and customer experience in mind
- Identify areas for improvement in existing People programs and operations and propose and contribute to new initiatives to address gaps and ensure our programs scale and grow with our business.
Core Requirements
- Experience working within a highly collaborative and cross-functional People Operations or People Experience role
- Experience responding to and managing complex employee queries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build cross-functional relationships
- While we have an incredible team of employment lawyers and other specialists supporting us on the more technical stuff, experience applying HR principles and practices when navigating employee queries is a must for this position
- Naturally, you will have the ability to handle sensitive information independently and an awareness of the criticality of data privacy.
- We’re remote and asynchronous, so with that comes the supreme individual responsibility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and maintain your initiative around the work you are responsible for - we’ve got a lot of great resources to help here, but it’s an important cornerstone to come with, too.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team - as generic as this sounds, it’s really not. A lot of work you will be doing will tie in with our team's sprint process and be reliant on others who know that part better than you do (teamwork!). Conversely, there is stuff that you will pretty much own in isolation. Being able to switch between the two approaches is going to be important in delivering success in this role.
- Strong Project Management skills with the ability to define, craft and deliver pieces of work in an agile environment.
- [BONUS] Experience working with project management, documentation and collaboration tools such as Asana, Notion, Loom and Miro.
- [BONUS] Working within a globally distributed company
You'll also need...
- A reliable home internet connection (or be able to get one)
- Fluent English language skills

Principal Cloud Engineer
Human Made is looking for a Principal Cloud Engineer. This position is remote but you should be based between UTC and UTC+5:30.
As a Principal Cloud Engineer at Human Made, you will work to build and operate the cloud hosting platform underpinning Altis Cloud, which serves tens of billions of page requests every year. You’ll work alongside the rest of the Product team, building and operating the platform with other Product and Cloud Engineers. You will be required to support both client and developer requests relating to cloud infrastructure for projects and environments.
The Altis Cloud platform is a containerised LEMP platform running on Amazon Web Services. The Altis software is based on WordPress, so you should understand the operational concerns regarding PHP-based applications. This includes familiarity with scaling considerations, security best practices, caching, and performance considerations. Knowledge of WordPress best practices relating to performance and security is an advantage, as this will allow you to contribute to code review and cross-functional architectural decisions, however this knowledge can be gained through experience on the job.

You should have a good knowledge of AWS and scaling LEMP-based systems. As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will be on-call during (UK) working hours for any site availability issues that arise. Our globally-distributed nature means out-of-hours support is rare, but may sometimes be required. You should be a good, professional communicator when providing client support in the event of site outages or other issues affecting availability or maintenance. You’ll be responsible for either directly solving or coordinating support issues while you are on-call.
Human Made is a remote company which means that you need to be able to work both independently and as part of a remote team. Good communication skills are essential to be successful in the job. You should be able to prioritise your work and meet any deadlines, communicating any problems upstream along the way.
You should be prepared to learn new technologies, frameworks or software when required. These could be outside of your engineering comfort zone. You are expected to have a can-do attitude when tackling new technical challenges, working with team-wide decisions that may not be your own and dealing with client relationship frustrations.
Requirements
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, particularly services relating to high-availability web infrastructure. For example, EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, ALB, S3, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, Security Groups, IAM, ASG, and ECS
- Comfortable working from a Linux command-line
- Good at problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Comfortable with version control systems and corresponding workflows
- Experience with orchestration tools and contributing to existing infrastructure-as-code, especially Terraform and CloudFormation
- Ability to automate tasks
- Experience with running WordPress (or comparable LEMP-based applications) at scale

- Flexible working
- up to 26 weeks paid parental leave (dependent on tenure)
- 35 day holiday policy
- Sickness and carers leave

About the role:

What you will do:
- Help shape what we build. Our current tech stack includes Airflow, Fivetran, DBT, Databricks and DynamoDB and is primarily in Python, leveraging some of the most used machine learning packages. You will build and maintain data pipelines and scalable machine learning inference systems in production.

- Extensive Industrial experience designing and productionising ML systems.
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals and ability to translate business requirements into machine learning solutions.
- Experience in statistical experiment design and performance analysis of machine learning models.
- Strong experience with Python, SQL and machine learning frameworks. Some data engineering experience is preferred (Databricks and Airflow are some of the platforms we use, but any equivalent experience is appreciated).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bias for action. You see a problem, you fix a problem. You get buy-in for your solutions and keep tickets moving. We’re always looking for ways to ship at pace.
