Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Work From Your Home on a Remote-First Team
At Files.com, we build technology so businesses can manage file transfer and security at scale. We are private equity backed, profitable, and lead our industry in terms of revenue per employee. This means that each and every team member is able to have a high degree of direct responsibility and impact.
We are a SaaS, Cloud-Based Managed File Transfer platform that enables organizations to securely transfer, share, and store files between users, teams, and organizations. Our app and API is primarily written in Ruby on Rails (though we built our own internal framework for APIs, not ActionController, and we don't use Rails views at all). We have additional backend services written in Ruby, have built our own version of Resque, and heavily use things like Redis and Elasticsearch.
We are looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in building internal tools to join our team and help us build tools and features that will support scaling our already great app.
World Class Pay and Benefits
Earn a "Bay Area" Salary from Anywhere in the United States. Our pay is competitive with the top software companies in the world, with generous base salary plus equity compensation.
Big Company Benefits
You'll get full 🏥 Health/Dental/Vision Insurance coverage (plus 75% of Spouse/Family coverage too), 💰 401(k) with generous matching, 11 Company Holidays per year, and 🏖 20 PTO/Vacation days, plus we give employees off for Winter Break at the end of the year!
Company Macbook Pro and $1,000: We'll send you a company issued contemporary Macbook Pro as well as $1,000 sign-on bonus as a welcome to Files.com.
Tight-Knit Fun-Loving Team: You will be joining a fun-loving team that works together very closely, despite the remote work environment.
100% Remote Opportunity
The Files.com Engineering team is 100% remote. However, we travel for regular in-person meetings with the team and the entire company to meet and work together face to face. These meetings are in cities around the US, including Scottsdale, Austin, Orlando, New Orleans, San Diego, Las Vegas, and New York City. This position is required to be based out of the United States.
In-person events combine work and fun and are designed to make up for the in-person interaction that occurs in an office job.
About the Role
As an Infrastructure Engineer at Files.com, you will take the lead on helping build internal tools and cutting edge features into the Files.com product that drive value for the 4,000 businesses that use our platform. Our API receives hundreds of requests per second and is used by both internal and external developers. This unique role will require comfort building prototypes. The role also requires the ability to dig deep into an issue to understand the root cause.
A key differentiator between this role and other infrastructure engineer positions is that we are looking for engineers that want to build solutions and tools rather than maintain our current toolset.
On Call Rotation:
This role requires On Call Rotation for routine challenges. Examples of typical alert are server issues such as a disk being full or overloaded. We do offer PTO reimbursement greater than the time spent on these issues if this occurs. Critical platform incidents are handled by a separate team. Individuals may in the future be called in to participate in incidents.
Here are some examples of projects that our Developers have recently completed or are actively working on:
- Terraforming our ~10k line-per-second log management system
- Connecting an on-premise datacenter to AWS using Direct Connect
- Performance run-off between redis, keydb, and others
- Acquiring IPv4 address space and bringing it online
- Building custom tooling for deploying go apps from CI
- Custom VPN Manager built on wireguard
- Building automation around terraform or chef
Additionally, you'll contribute to our ongoing projects for improving security, monitoring, and performance.

Graphic Designer
Why Now
2024 has been an exciting year for Doppler. After raising our $20M Series A from CRV in 2022, we have now helped over 41,000 startups and enterprises manage their secrets at scale. After building the community, it is time to scale and monetize. Throughout this year, we’re getting far more ambitious by setting even higher product, growth, sales, and hiring goals!
About Doppler
Doppler's mission is to make it easy and secure for developers of every experience level and teams of any size to manage their app configuration and secrets. But hasn't this been done?
Developers tend to be either struggling with the manual management of .env files, or wrestling with an overly complex secrets manager that's not built for software development. Doppler is changing that by making app configuration and secrets management easy, intuitive, and scalable. It's the SecretOps platform built by developers for developers.
Our team is entrepreneurial, with a bias for action. We never back down from a spirited debate and believe we are all responsible for exploring the hard questions. We value self-awareness and meaningful impact. We are open to unconventional approaches and have learned not to judge a book by its cover. Your time is your most valuable resource, so you set your hours. We use Slack to communicate and default to zero meetings. We aim to document everything. We also recommend you invest your time in 10% compounding time.
Who We Are
Doppler is a SecretOps platform that enables developers and security teams to keep their secrets secure and in sync wherever they run their code. SecretOps is the set of security philosophies, frameworks, and tools used to operationalize secrets at scale.
The Role
As a Graphic Designer at Doppler, you will be the brand expert, ensuring that every piece of visual communication aligns with our brand's voice and aesthetic. We collaborate with as little ego as humanly possible and are constantly trying to improve how we are presented to our target audience and how our users interact with our product.
Joining Doppler as a Graphic Designer is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative team. You will have the chance to make a significant impact on our brand and help shape the future of our visual identity. We've built a great product our customers love. Our churn is low, and active usage continues to rise. We just need to amplify our reach to educate the market that secrets management can be fast, secure, and affordable for teams and organizations of any size. And most importantly, we need to continue encouraging Developers to stop adhering to archaic insecure standards such as manually managing .env file formats.

More about Hopper
At Hopper, we are on a mission to become the leading travel platform globally – powering Hopper’s mobile app, website and our B2B business, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions). By leveraging massive amounts of data and advanced machine learning algorithms, Hopper combines its world-class travel agency offering with proprietary fintech products to bring transparency, flexibility and savings to travelers globally. We have developed several unique fintech solutions that address everything from pricing volatility to trip disruptions – helping people travel better and save more on their trips.
The Hopper platform serves hundreds of millions of travelers globally and continues to capture market share around the world. Ranked the third largest online travel agency in North America, the Hopper app has been downloaded over 120 million times and has become largely popular among younger travelers – with 70% of its users being Gen Z and millennials.
While everyone knows us as the Gen Z and Millennial travel app, Hopper has evolved to become much more than that. In recent years, we’ve grown into a global travel agency and travel fintech provider that powers some of the world’s largest brands.
Through HTS, our B2B division, the company supercharges its partners’ direct channels by integrating our fintech products on their sites or powering end-to-end travel portals. Today, our partners include leading travel brands like Capital One, Nubank, Air Canada and many more.
Here are just a few stats that demonstrate the company’s recent growth:
Hopper sells billion worth of travel and travel fintech every year. In 2023, over 1.3 billion trips were planned through the Hopper app and our HTS partnerships.
Our fintech products – including Price Freeze, Flexibility for Any Reason and Flight Disruption Assistance – have exceptionally strong CSAT because the terms are always clear, and customers receive instant, no-questions-asked resolutions.
Almost 30% of our app customers purchase at least one fintech product when making a booking; and consumers are 1.6x more likely to repurchase if they add fintech to their booking vs if they booked just travel.
Given the success of its fintech products, Hopper launched a B2B initiative, HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), which represents more than 50% of the business.
Through HTS, any travel provider (airlines, hotels, banks, travel agencies, etc.) can integrate and seamlessly distribute Hopper’s fintech or travel inventory on their direct channels. As its first HTS partnership, the company partnered with Capital One to co-develop Capital One Travel, a new travel portal designed specifically for cardholders. Other HTS partners include Air Canada, Uber, CommBank, Nubank, Flair Airlines with many more in the pipeline.
Featured in Apple’s Best of the App Store list of Essential Travel Apps in 2023 and recognized by the likes of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, Hopper has been downloaded over 120 million times and continues to have millions of new installs each month. Hopper is now the #3 largest online travel agency in North America and 70% of our app customers are Gen-Z and millennials travelers.
